Announcing hotglue’s $4M Seed Round

At hotglue, we believe engineering teams should spend their time on building their core products – not on building and maintaining their native integrations. However, the reality is that integrations are more important than ever in the SaaS space and are a critical competitive advantage. That’s why we are committed to building the most versatile embedded iPaaS platform on the market: a platform that enables products of all sizes to support a large suite of integrations with all the functionality their users expect.

Today, we are thrilled to announce that we’ve raised a $4 million seed round, led by 8VC with participation from Y Combinator, Correlation Ventures, Wayfinder Ventures,andTDF Ventures.

This is a major milestone for the team at hotglue and we wanted to share a bit about our journey so far and how we see hotglue evolving as we move forward.

How we got here

In many ways hotglue’s journey is unique in that we have been focused on this problem space from the beginning. hotglue was born from a very real need: I was at a startup that was struggling with supporting native integrations with SaaS tools like QuickBooks Online and Salesforce. Integrations were absolutely essential to supporting our users, but we couldn’t get them right.

Our mission was to create a developer experience that took care of the heavy lifting when it comes to integrations, and allowed developers to hone in on the pieces that were specific to their use case. We knew we wanted to build an embedded integration platform, but the form it took on was entirely driven by solving for the use cases we came across as we worked with new customers.

Today, hotglue has a library of over 250 open-source connectors across multiple verticals such as CRM, ERP, and e-commerce. We’ve evolved as a product to support a wide range of integration use cases, through features such as real-time triggers, on-premise connectors, bidirectional integrations, unified schemas, and more.

What’s next

With this new round of funding we are excited to continue serving our customers and iterating on our product with the same customer-centric mindset that got us here. This market is growing rapidly and we are excited to help more SaaS companies around the world power their integrations. We have many exciting product developments around the corner including a low-code connector builder, expanded connector coverage, powerful custom mapping options, and much more.
